Bella as a 3yo

Spring early Summer 2011, She had been backed and is riding out nicely, a genuine ride who I find safe to get on after weeks without work, she's like her farther I just tack up and go.  I don't find the need to lunge before hand we just toddle off and enjoy our ride.  We have always found her happy to go out on her own or in company, in front or behind, always been very safe and sensible no matter how much time she's had off, been sensible in traffic and on bridle ways, doing gates, getting on and off her etc. She has also had different riders on with no trouble at all.

AS A 4 YEAR OLD,

Summer 2011.
She has competed in both dressage and showing. Her first dressage we did an intro to get her used to the school and white boards before going onto do the prelim. She went very well with promising comment and finished off 5th. Her next outing was her first time under saddle and to be ridden on grass, she behaved beautifully in the ridden WPB. I then represented the Riding club , in the dressage individual coming 5th, at the Area 21 Qualifier.  We were really pleased with her as this was her 1st test outside, and with the added excitement of it being  busy with quite a few arenas in a fairly close area.

I've stated to take her to Show jumping, she is jumping confidently willingly and happily round small courses of about 70 to 80 cm of 8 to 10 fences including skinny's, planks, doubles and related distances.  She is careful and with a good technique and very sensible. When I start them off jumping im aiming to produce them with the future in mind. I'm not interested in rosettes or placings.

I like to educate them and produce them for the long term and future as well as I can.  I will aim to take them for clear round jumping at a quite time or hire a course.  If they need to be bought back to walk between fences, or turn a circle to re present for a fence I can, I'm aiming for them to jump straight, from a nice rhythm, to jump clean with a nice shape etc and generally be obedient and enjoy it.  I don't feel they need to prove them selves over height as having watched most of them have fun over 1m loose jumping and watching their dad play over 1m20 loose (not as brave as i was, would have jumped it on him a few years ago, i am now a self confirmed wimp!). With ability not an issue we keep the fences small so that they can learn to sort them selves out without relying on me to place them, I like them to think for themselves. we will do a couple of rounds and maybe a small class which im still using to train in rather than  going flat out or yanking them them round corners and un balancing and encouraging them to jump flat, chasing rosettes and placing.  We like them to come home  having enjoyed at and feeling special.

With all this has been established they should have no problem achieving great results at a good level for a long time, although its nice to get placed first time out i rather take my time for a long term investment of hopefully long term soundness and good career at a good level with the horses enjoying it all been well.

BELLAS HISTORY
Being fairly new to the world of all things horsy and showing,  Bella was Yvonne's first attempt at breeding for pleasure with the aim to be able to  enjoy producing and compete the offspring at National & County level.  BELLA is out of her own WPB mare Brohedydd Passion and by Blaenllain Doodleba (Bart). Bart  ticked all the boxes on Yvonne's wish list in looking for a stallion and as usual combined with Passion he didn't disappoint with his off spring, Bella.

Yvonne always wanted to have something that she and her very nervous daughter could enjoy both at home as a family all rounder but with the quality and eligibility to compete up to national level. They wanted something that must have an easy temperament to be with and produce especially as was going to be mothers and daughters first attempt at producing for top level in hand showing.  They wanted be able to take Bella on their own to shows, be able to do the simple things like tie her up outside the trailer while getting her ready or enjoying an ice cream, bath her, load & travel her on your own etc.  She is  laid back enough that if Cira wanted to enjoy Bella by safely leading her round the show ground to have a nose or have a go in child handler classes, she can.

Bella is now at the age where she can start preparation work towards backing, again Yvonne has had her first go at long reining and Bella accepted it without any fuss or taking the pee! She's the type of mare that can do compete in dressage and jumping with Yvonne as she's big enough and fills the leg enough to carry an adult, or she can do pony club & social rides with Cira and she's not to tall for a child, but it will be a while before Cira would out grow her. She's also got the potential to be a excellent WHP/SHP/SPORTS/COMPETITION/DRESSAGE pony if that's what a competition rider wanted. She also has the ability to breed really nice useful stock and being approximately  14hh she can breed either up or down in height. Bella has been such a success & enjoyment for Yvonne that she has put Passion in back in foal to BART to produce in the summer of 2011.

Yvonne produced Bella with the help of her daughter Cira and Yvonne showed her herself.

November 2010

BELLA is regularly walked out on the roads seeing various types of traffic, Yvonne has also recently stated long reining her, mostly from behind due to lack of facilities to work on a circle. She works happily in both a saddle or roller with side reins on and is responsive to a Happy mouth snaffle.  BELLA has been really sensible and listens to the voice well and really enjoys her work and the time spent with her.

As a 3 year old

Yvonne was hoping to compete regularly with BELLA but due to an increase in business/work commitments she didn't have the time to compete as much as hoped. They did get to the Welsh Pony & Cob Medal show and had 3rd in the Welsh part bred, her half sister (Same sire) won the class and took Res y.Stock Champion and her dad,  BART took overall Welsh Part Bred Champion.

BELLA's next outing was the Royal Welsh, and she  behaved impeccably and  moved really well with a lovely free rhythm in all that mud in the main ring for the Welsh Part Bred.

As a 2 year old

Turned away to mature.

As a yearling

Bella was  placed every time out  including at the Malvern National In-Hand Show and she finished of the season by winning the Welsh Part Bred yearling class at Pembrokeshire County

In due course Yvonne is hoping to take  Bella's mother Passion to be graded by the Sports Pony Stud book Society.

FOR SALE

It is now with much sadness and regret that Yvonne is offering Bella for sale, this is a very hard decision that she has had to make and it is purely down to a huge increase in her work/business commitment that Bella is now on the market.  She will only be available to a genuine caring home.

For the same reasons Yvonne also offers for sale a 3yo approx 14.3/15hh palomino Quarter X paint horse (registered)

Meet the parents

Sire:
BLAENLLAIN DOODLEBA (BART)  is our own homebred stallion, he has had many wins & championships in showing both under saddle and in-hand.  He won the Welsh Pony & Cob Medal as a foal at the Welsh Pony & Cob International Centenary Show, he won a WP&CS performance medal first time shown under saddle as a 4yo. I've also competed BART in Dressage being 3rd first time out and Show Jumping being regularly placed & jumping double clears.  BART is also currently ridden by the Owner of Cel Aeron Equestrian Centre, Kelly Webb.  They are successfully competing at affiliated dressage scoring very well and been given praise from the judges. I am also aiming to  continue competing him in Show Jumping.  BART is out of our own very successful show & competition mare BLAENLLAIN DOODLEBERRY (Hopefully to be put forward for grading) who was by the TB stallion Old Lucky who also sired Mary Kings  top class eventer King Solomon III.

BART'S progeny are doing really well in the show ring winning & taking Supremes and Championships at county level  in WPB, SHP & PBA. His first crop of foals were born in 2007 and are due out under saddle for the 2011 season. They all seem to have inherited his excellent qualities including the lovely temperament, looks,  jump & trainability.

IT IS OUR AIM TO WORK BART TOWARDS GRADING WITH A RECOGNISED SOCIETY TO PROVE HIS EXCELLENT TEMPERAMENT, ABILITY, VERSATILITY, TRAINABILITY AND SOUNDNESS.

Dam: Brohedydd Passion (Hopefully to be put forward for grading) is a 14.2hh approx reg WPB, Yvonne purchased her as a 3yo, bought her on under saddle doing social rides and general R.C activities, she also competed her in dressage qualifying for the venues championship final . I competed Passion under saddle although still being green she did very well coming 3rd in the ridden WPB at the Welsh pony and Cob Championship show held at Shrewsbury. I also competed and jumped clear in cross country and show jumping.

Our opinion

I feel that this youngster should have the potential to be a excellent WPB/PBA/SHP/WHP/SPORTS/COMPETITION/DRESSAGE pony with the temperament to be a genuine R.C/P.C family all rounder.
