BLAENLLAIN DOODLEBERRY
(Doodle)
W.P.B.R 15975
Date of Birth: 1994
15hh bright bay mare .
Sire: OLD LUCKY.
Dam : LLANGEITHO VAL ( 67174), Dam's Sire : LLANGEITHO TWERP (17211);
I've owned Doodle for many years and have had a lot
great times with her. I first started off doing show jumping and cross
country with her, we competed up to county standard show jumping and
R.C Novice area horse trials level. I then decided to try her showing
and found this to be where she would excel. She has won in a variety of
classes including WPB, Riding Horse and Show Hunter pony. She has won
both in hand and ridden and also with a foal at foot.
During the year of "foot and mouth" as things were quiet
we decided to put her in foal to the Pure Bred Arab "Ali Nebal". She
produced a bay colt "Blaenllain Doodleba" (Bart). Mother and baby went
on to do better than we could ever have imagined. Our high point of
that year must have been at the "Centenary International Show". I was
showing Doodle as a brood mare. She won her class and Bart who was
handled by my sister "Tina" then won his foal class and he then went on
to take the overall Junior Male Champion and won the WP&C Gold
Medal. I rode Doodle for 2 year's before putting her in foal again.

the top, her last ridden outing before retiring to be a mum.
I put her to another Pure Arab "Phariz"
and she produced the chestnut colt "Blaenllain Cardinals Dream (Ozzy)". They
had been unshown for 2005 and the first outing was to the Royal Welsh.
The first time Ozzy had been asked to trot in hand was on his way down
to the ring. Ozzy and Doodle went on to excel themselves. Doodle won
her class, Ozzy won his foal class and Doodle then went on to become
Champion Welsh Part bred Horse. Doodle has a lovely laid back &
willing temperament which she has passed on to her babies.

Blaenllain
Doodleberry is by the 16.1hh liver chestnut Thoroughbred stallion, “Old Lucky”
Old
Lucky was also the sire of the bay gelding “King Solomon III. King Solomon III was ridden by Mary King and
they were a world class combination in Three Day Eventing. From 1994 to 2003 the combination had some fantastic wins & placing’s,
including at Blenheim, Saumur, Achselschwang, Gatcombe, Burghley,
Chatsworth, Badminton & Punchestown

As we mentioned “Talgrwn Stud Service in our website we
felt we would like to send our own mare there before we could happily
recommend them. Doodle went there for a few
day’s in the
summer
of 2007, to put her in foal using Artificial Insemination. I can
honestly say that from my own experience I
would happily recommend TALGRWN STUD SERVICE’S and would happily
send any of my mares there again. We found the whole experience
very easy and convenient and a lot less hassle than travelling for
hours, then back again to collect her. We felt this would
have been a long and unnecessary trip for both DOODLE and her baby.

Doodle has been put in foal to Olympus Cherokee Chief, who is by the Trakehner
stallion, Fleetwater Olympus.
She is
our sons first taste at everything horsy as he enjoys
grooming her (she has very clean legs!), playing with her, leading
her, and sitting on her, riding her to the field, filling her water
buckets with the hose pipe (Doodle gets a bath at the same time as
does any one else in close proximity) he also enjoys helping muck her
out etc and anything else to do with her! she is clearly his favourite
and she loves him. What a lovely 1st horse to have!
