A lovely sweet genuine laid back mare, she is competition
bred on her fathers side with show & competition on her
mothers side. For more details on her family please see bottom
of this page.
SWEET PEA has lovely straight athletic movement
with a lovely nature, she is very sensible in all ways. i
recently bought her back into ridden work but have been very restricted
by the weather, we hope to carry on in New year.
I hope to take her to riding club lessons, then compete her in
dressage and show jumping.
November 2010. She has been very worked very lightly on
the lunge and I have just started to ride her again. I haven't
needed to lunge her before riding, I tack up and get straight on.
I've ridden her lightly on the roads and she has not put a foot
wrong. She's been a real sweetie Ive found her to be
very willing, comfortable with very free paces and enjoys her
work.
Nov 2010; BART was competing at a affiliated
dressage competition, so we took SWEET PEA along for a day out for
experience. We took her straight off the lorry and Rebecca got on
her from cold. She was very sensible, Rebecca rode her round
the lorry park and in the collecting ring with the others warming
up, she also stood around for hours, including by the big sliding
doors of the indoor school, watching the comings & goings of
the day. She really enjoyed her day out.
Unfortunately we never had the time to show SWEET PEA as a
youngster due to my
family commitments.
Meet the
parents
SIRE: SWEET PEA is by the premium Anglo Arab stallion
MARBON BEUJOLAIS, he is National stallion association performance
tested grade one stallion. To have been awarded a Premium he would
have been assessed , in loose work free jumping, ridden by a assessor
he would also have done Dressage, Show Jumping over a course,
going over a course of Cross country fences including water,
Galloping for a distance, then passed the vet test. A true test of
is ability soundness and temperament. He has been champion both in hand and under
saddle and been successful in competing in Dressage, Show jumping,
and Cross Country. His progeny have successfully competed in
Prix St George dressage, British Eventing & Endurance, and
Showing
Dam: SWEET PEA is out of our own very
successful show & competition mare BLAENLLAIN DOODLEBERRY (Hopefully
to be put forward for grading) who was by the TB stallion Old
Lucky who also sired Mary Kings top class eventer
King Solomon III. I competed DOODLE in BSJA and
cross country starting her career in the show ring. We've
had a lot of success wit her including winning the WPB brood mare
at the Royal Welsh and at the same show her foal (OZZY) won WPB
foal, its not very often that the mare and foal win both classes
on the same day at the same show. She also won at the Welsh
Pony & Cob Centenary International Show, with her foal (BART) winning
the foal class, he then went on to win the Gold Medal. DOODLE has
also been very successful in ridden classes, she's won & taken
championships in numerous WPB and riding horse classes, some of
her wins include, City of Swansea, Pembrokeshire County, and the
Welsh pony & Cob Championship Finals held in Shrewsbury.
We have retained her son BART for for competition work and
stud duties.
HALF SIBLINGS; She is 1 of 4 who are out of the same dam, our
own BLAENLLAIN DOOLEBERRY, We own 2 of her half siblings, we have
BART who is our stallion, he has many successes in both show &
competition and has been used by The welsh Pony & Cob Society as
advertisement to represent the conformation, versatility and
temperament of a WPB show/competition horse. We were also approached
by the Arab Horse Society, they have chosen him as 1 of 4 stallions
in the UK to represent the versatility of the PBA in the Arabian
Magazine which is a World Wide Publication, he is in the Dec 2010
issue. For more details please see our stallion page.
OZZY; Very successful in hand, winning the Royal Welsh as a foal,
his mother went on to win the brood mare class. He had other big
wins in the show ring, we sold him on to a competition
home.
DAWZ a rising 3yo filly who is
by DAWZ FIREBIRD She was lightly shown as a foal winning the
WP& C Medal show, and her mother won the mare class. Not
show since foal due to other commitments.
Our opinion
Combining &
show lines I feel that this youngster should have the potential to
be a top class SPORTS/COMPETITION/DRESSAGE/R.C/P.C all rounder.
She should make a fantastic show/competition mare with
the advantage of hopefully being able to breed top
quality, marketable stock.
DVD, & delivery can be arranged.
