2011. We felt she looked mature enough to show, she was entered for Aberystwyth Agriculture Show, but unfortunately I was unwell and we were unable to go.

ROYAL WELSH this was to be her next show, she was entered in the Welsh Part Bred, which is now held in the main ring. For any of you that have been there, you will appreciate it can be quite a interesting experience.  There is very little space to warm up, the only place to walk round is usually in-between the lorries, mostly on gravel and very overcrowded. There is a walk way down to the main ring which is always very busy, with the atmosphere taking its effect on both horse and handler with horse bucking, rearing and kicking out, it can be quite eventful.  In the main ring we are in the middle, right in front of the grandstand. We have the Welsh on the one side which always seems to attract plenty of crowd cheering, banging the sides, whistling and clapping and general loud noise on a very regular basis with horse and handler running as fast as possible with horses spinning round and snorting, and been rather excited to say the least. We also had to contend with a very kind young fellow opening and closing a umbrella at great speed in order to "put some fire" into his Welsh pony as he walked through the very small and overcrowded collecting ring. As im sure you can appreciate its the type of atmosphere that would push the most experienced police horse to the limit. DAWZ has since seen many umbrellas and thankfully her first experience with a umbrella and very inconsiderate and unacknowledgeable owner has not had any lasting effect.

I was really dreading taking DAWZ as this was her first show since a foal and did not feel as brave as I had when I entered her in the April.  I can only say she behaved impeccably, better than some of her more experience competition. She didn't use the situation to pull, buck rear or do anything naughty or silly, she was exceptionally well behaved. She had been on the lorry since 2am and got off that night at 7pm, she was perfect throughout the day and was a easy to produce, with the show been a very wide experience and education.

She has since been backed by Rebecca Davies, and was great through out. Rebecca has since turned her out for a few weeks due to her teeth been a bit uncomfortable.  If not sold previously and time allows she will be bought back in to ridden work and produced over the winter, with the aim of competing in dressage, ridden showing and jumping  next year.

2010 Unshown, turned away and left to mature.

2009 Unshown, turned away and left to mature.

2008 SHOW RESULTS
:

We took DOODLEBERRY and her foal DOODLE DAWZ to her first show of 2008 on the 29th June to the 1st Ceredigion WP&C Show held at Llanllyr, Talsarn.  Both mother and daughter were shown in the WPB class and did very well, judged by Tom Best of the Waxwing Stud, DOODLEBERRY won her class and then DOODLEDAWZ won the foal class.

DAWZ has an excellent sweet laid back temperament, with lovely, conformation, movement & jump. She is well handled both in and out of the stable, with farrier, loading, tying up, rugging, catching etc.

DAWZ is a fantastic opportunity to purchase a sensibly priced filly to produce & show as a 3yo before coming out under saddle as a 4 year old, she has the potential and breeding to make a top class show/competition horse combined with the proven bloodlines to make a fantastic broodmare of very marketable stock. She is wasted with us due to lack of time as a result of us promoting our own PBA/WPB/NPS stallion (same Dam) & his stock stock.

Meet the parents

Sire:
Dawz FireBird,  our filly  is by the very well known Anglo Arab Stallion DAWS FIREBIRD who stands at 15.2hh.  FIREBIRD had an exceptional show career and consistently won major championships across the country at both county and National level, culminating in the UK and the International Supreme Stallion Championship @ Stoneleigh.  FIREBIRD is a half brother to Mark Todds Advanced Eventer “ROYAL MAIL” and his full sister also evented at Intermediate level.  FIREBIRDS offspring have been selling at public auction for £8,000 and £10,000.

Dam:
BLAENLLAIN DOODLEBERRY, DOODLE (DAWZ'S mother) Reg WPB (Sec B 50% x TB 50%) & NPS.; b. 1994 15hh Bay mare.
(Hopefully to be put forward for grading Dam; Riding Pony Sec B   Sire; Old Lucky TB, same sire as Mary Kings International Eventer King Solomon III)

I competed DOODLE in BSJA and cross country starting her career in the show ring.  We've had a lot of success with her including winning the WPB brood mare at the Royal Welsh and at the same show her foal (OZZY) won WPB foal, its not very often that the mare and foal win both classes on the same day at the same show.  She also won at the Welsh Pony & Cob Centenary International Show, with her foal (BART) winning the foal class, he then went on to win the Gold Medal. DOODLE has also been very successful in ridden classes, she's won & taken championships in numerous WPB and riding horse classes, some of her wins include, City of Swansea, Pembrokeshire County, and the Welsh pony & Cob Championship Finals held in Shrewsbury.  We have retained her son BART for competition work and stud duties.

Our opinion Combining & show lines I feel that this youngster should have the potential to be a top class WPB/PBA/SHP/WHP/SPORTS/COMPETITION/DRESSAGE / Should make a fantastic show/competition mare with the advantage of hopefully being able to breed  top quality, marketable stock.

DVD, & delivery can be arranged.

Mother & daughter both won their WPB classes @ WP&CS Medal Show, June 2008
